14th Annual Halloween Costume Party

The BRONZE and INTRO groups had their annual Halloween costume party this week. INTRO celebrated at Harbord C.I on Thursday evening while BRONZE celebrated on Halloween morning at Riverdale C.I. All swimmers who participated came up with amazing costumes. As tradition dictates each swimmer swam two lengths of the pool in their costume. Team spirit, sportsmanship, and teamwork was evident at both pool parties. Thank you coaches for your help and Halloween spirit.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!

Ontario's new Provincial Mentor Coach, Dean Boles, will lead this camp. Swimmers were selected based on the sum of FINA points for 3 of the highest scoring swims in the 2009 Long Course swim season (400 IM, and two 200 meter events). Only 3 swimmers in the Province were selected for each age category. A second camp will take place in April, selection TBA.

Edward Liu has been selected to represent Swimming Canada’s 2009 Long Course Prospects Team Relay Initiative. The team will compete at the Canada Cup in Etobicoke this November. Edward was selected based off the sum of FINA points during the 2009 Long Course swim season.

Jeremie Holdom and Edward Liu have been selected to represent Swim Ontario's Youth Tour Team. The team will compete at the Paul Bergen Junior International Meet in Portland Oregon this December. This competition provides an excellent opportunity for Swim Ontario athletes to gain valuable international racing experience. Swimmers will be racing alongside some of the top athletes from the United States, Germany and France. Swimmers were selected based on the sum of FINA points for 3 of the highest scoring swims in the 2009 Long Course swim season.

Jillian Stoyan, Edward Liu and David Riley have been named to the National Development Program ID Team. This program provides identified swimmers age 18 and under, in tandem with their coaches, the development opportunities to establish the will, attitude and skills required to race to the podium at the Senior International level. These swimmers were selected to the prospects team based off their FINA points during the 2009 Long Course swim season. Jillian, Edward and David were selected to the ID team based off of their performances in 200 Freestyle, 100 Butterfly and 200 Breaststroke respectively.
