Misha Selected to the Para Swimming National Camp
Congratulations goes to Misha Mykitiuk a Bronze 2 swimmer selected to represent our province and Toronto Swim Club in Montreal this week. Swim Ontario selected the top three Swimmers with a Disability (SWAD) to attend the national camp hosted by Swimming Canada from April 30th to May 3rd. The aim of the camp is to gather some of the most talented SWAD athletes from across Canada to train together and be part of a two day swim meet.
There are 14 officially recognized disability classifications. Misha has been officially classified as a S10 swimmer (athlete deemed least disabled). Misha is TSC's first classified SWAD swimmer who made his start in the TSC Introductory program.

Harbord and Riverdale pools will remain open!
The TSC board of directors and coaching staff would like to thank all swimmers and parents who attended yesterday evenings SAVE OUR POOLS RALLY at the TDSB. Your participation made a difference as both Harbord and Riverdale pools will remain open! The other 26 pools will be decided in June.

The team of 40 swimmers selected to represent TSC are in their final preparation stage as they get ready to battle at the 2009 Division 1 Team Championships. Competition takes place from Friday, April 17th to Sunday, April 19th at the Etobicoke Olympium. Good luck to the TSC athletes participating at this meet.

Canadian Junior National Team Selection
Congratulations to Paige Schultz, Jillian Stoyan and Lukasz Kosiorek, for being named to the Junior National Team competing in Mexico at the North American Challenge Cup. This meet will take place in the August where these swimmers will represent TSC and Canada.

New 13-14 Girls Club Record
Congratulations to Simone Cseplo, for breaking a 5 year old club record in the girls 50m Back at the Grootveld meet last weekend. Simone broke Zsofi Balazs' record in a time of 32.86.

Bronze Report from Grootveld Meet
Alexis Bragman(Bronze 1)dominated the pool this weekend breaking three 10 and under girls long course TSC club records. She smashed a 19 year old club record in the 200 IM swimming a time of 2:52.97. This ranks her 2nd overall in Canada. Alexis continued her dominance in the 50 BR event by breaking her own record. She swam a time of 39.40 ranking her 1st in Canada. Alexis capped the weekend in the 100 BR with a time of 1:26.31 ranking her 1st in Canada. Congratulations!
All TSC swimmers did a fantastic job posting best times this past weekend. The energy and excitement inspired everyone to race fast in their home pool. Congratulations goes to Renee Corbiere, Natalia Klim, Freya Wright, Michael Konstantopoulos, Jacob Rothery and Ryan Smithwho have made the Bronze 1 standard. It is a huge leap in competitive swimming. Job well done!
